Yeah there are plenty, but people are just dying to get in there, so you had better wait your turn!!
Kendal Green Cemetery in North London is very impressive for its style and variations in architecture.

Tube station close by so only a short walk away, but keep an eye on the closing times! This cemetery has massive gates that you do not want to be stuck behind late at night!

Guided tours of the famous people laid to rest there are available if that is your liking?
Yes as monetioned Brookwood Cemetary just outside woking.
Its on the main railway line from waterloo so you should have no problems getting there. It has a massive history and more info can be found on the cemetary's site, see.

There are two that I know of that are pretty interesting. Both are in South Carolina. One is the cemetery at All Saints Episcopal Church in Pawleys Island. This one has an interesting tale to go along with it. http://courtneytsc.tripod.com/id21.html
The other I believe is call Magnolia Cemetery. It is in Charleston. I can't really remember where it is located but if you want to find it just ask someone at a visitors center that you'd like to see the gravesite of the crew from the confederate submarine. They'll be able to direct you. Charleston actually has a bunch of cemeteries that you'd probably like. They are all pretty old (by American standards) They date back to the Revolution or a little before. Hope that helps.
i would imagine that all cemeteries are good after all people or dying to get in them
Get a life.
Re the other suggestions - Brookwood (not far from Waterloo Station) is lovely and peaceful. I only know that there's a lot of grass and trees, as I only visit one section. (They have sections for different nationalities, communities, etc.) I don't know of any big tombs.

Kensal Green (near where I live!) has Catacombs, which are open to visitors - bring a torch! -

Highgate Cemetery is fascinating: as far as I remember, there are two parts - make sure you go to the older part, where there are stories of vampires and ghosts. When I visited, it was overgrown and eerie; horror films have been made there!
