A question for Scotish people.?

I understand why in history the scots don't like english people. We ripped off your country, stole from you and generally were wankers to you. I understand this. So why do you still hate us now? I mean most of us don't still hate the germans and yet we had a bad history with them but we moved on. I know you want complete control of Scotland but the average english person on the street wants you to have control too. Its our government that isn't listening to you or us, so you should be angry with the governemnt not us!

I don't think most of us do hate the English. Granted there are horrible thugs who do, but they would just as soon hate you for being coloured, a different religion, more middle/upper class etc. And there are people who have lost jobs because of increasingly anti-Scottish Tory governments, but by and large Scottish people do not have animosity towards the English. Except for the BBC weather people with their nasty slanting map which doesn't allow us to see Scotland properly.

Some of my best friends are English! It's not the individuals we dislike, it's the nation as a whole. For instance, watch the World Cup opening game next week between Germany and Costa Rica and see how long it takes to mention 1966. I would imagine that less than 5 minutes will pass (maximum). We're sick of hearing about things like that. Perhaps when England has stolen all the oil we will have a better chance of independence.

Second, I realize that your relations with Germany is more cordial than that with us, but the problem lies with the fact that you are our next door neighbours. The injustice done to us was like a blow from your older brother, the scars run deep and last long. Unlike the fights between brothers you all have the added burden of being dick heads and this is patently unforgivable. I don't really see the problem.We hate you,and that's it.We don't need to tell you why,we just don't like you.
The Irish and Welsh also dislike the English - many are cheering on the opposition team in the World Cup (not through jealously) - but they only think of themselves like they are the only country to have organised their victory party and still bang on something happened 40 yrs ago winning the World Cup - if they are so good, why haven't they win since 66? As a Welshman I too want England knocked in the World Cup - I think the highest will get is Semi-Finals or Finals.
