Anyone know of a cheap campsite near Dovedale uk?
A farm site with bare essentials would be most adequate
Answers:
Join the Camping and Caravanning Club. They have a section of small sites - often farmland sites (Certified Sites), and seldom with more than 5 'units' (by which they mean campers of any description from tent to motorhome). The joining fee is something like £25 - but don't hold me to that! It's worth joining if you want to do a lot of camping.
I'm a motorhomer, and belong to both this and The Caravan Club (who run similar 'Certified Locations'), although I shall drop out of the Caravan Club this year. I usually stay on the larger Club sites if I'm taking both the motorhome and the Smart car we use on a trailer behind us. But these sites - although well equipped - can be very expensive to stay on - more than they used to be. If you have a tent, though, it's worth looking at CSs or CLs if you are trying to get away a) for peace and quiet, b) for a safe site which is cheap and c) are happy for it to have only the basic essentials. You need to check c) on every occasion though; your idea of basic may not be theirs, and some can be very, very basic!
