How long is the journey of the route of Santiago de Compostela?

It depends from where you star. The rout of Santiago de Compostela was a pilgrimage rout that Fervent Catholics took to visit the tomb of St James. If you start from Madrid there is one way, from The north is another, and from Portugal another. Check "Camino de Santiago" on goggle.es. In all those routes you will find the monasteries in which the pilgrims stayed on their way to Santiago the Compostela. Even today people do it on foot, on horse but most of us who do not have much time prefer the modern way of a car.Check also on a map which will be the most picturesque. I prefer the north for the beautiful views of mountains, towns and the people.And also because it is the most Catholic one. Remember Spain was conquer by the Moors and they stayed for seven centuries, but there were stopped in Asturias. The people from up north would say "Spain is Asturias and the rest was reconquer"( Espana es Asturias y lo demas es reconquista). From those days the warriors would screamed "Santiago y cierra Espana" or "St James and close Spain". You will find there the beautiful Monastery of Covadonga (Cave). Good luck and good journey.

Like between 20 or 25 days, depending how you´re going.
There are actually 3 routes. The French route is the longest, then there's a Spanish route and the shortest, the Portuguese route. I guess the Portuguese route must be about 150 km long. I don't know how long they take on foot.
