The best way to find Affordable Housing is to walk around the neighborhood..Ussually Houses around the Universities are used as Hospedajes (a Studio apartment or a shared bathroom Studios).

Visit the college and Look at the bulletin Boards..they always have listings.

I went to PR to attend school. A lot of the colleges or universities have lists of locals that rent out rooms at very little cost. They are called "Hospedajes."
You might want to go to the local newspaper classifieds.
